2024 HR Derby to Defeat ALS

Please come join us in our efforts to raise money to help find a cure for ALS. We are running this event in the memory of our good friend, Karen Delaney Shideleff. All proceeds will be donated to our Delaney Strong team contribution for the 2024 Walk to Defeat ALS in Philadelphia at Citizens Bank Park, Saturday, November 16th. DON'T MISS OUT ON THIS EVENT!
Last year, with the help of so many wonderful and generous people, we were able to raise over $2500 from this event. We're looking to do more than that this year! Even though this is the 10th anniversary of the Ice Bucket Challenge this year, if you are considering donating to a worthy cause, please consider this fantastic family event. You get a hands on chance to participate here, or simply make a donation to a fantastic cause.
People of all ages are welcome to play in this event. We don't know how many will show up, but we have a goal in mind to achieve, and that is to raise awareness of ALS to those who don't know about it, and also to raise a great deal of $$ to support so many others who are in similar situations as Karen was in. So many advances have been made in the last few years, but not enough to eradicate this disease. The more awareness, the more people know about the effect ALS has on patients and their families, and the more money we can raise as a community will help in the long term towards to a cure once and for all.

HOW THIS WILL WORK
Home Run Derby rules:

Each contestant will get 25 swings at the plate.

For each HR that is hit, the contestant will donate $1 to the ALS Association.

Example - Mike Kramer (or any batter) hits 7 HRs, he then donates $7, and the Brennans match that with $7. From one batter, we have a total of $14 already.

Say Mike is upset he only hit 7 HRs and decides to add $10 more to the cause. Any extra donations are OK as well from any individual.

The Brennan family will each match $1 for each HR that is hit - up to $100 total each from this event. Anyone else willing to match up to a certain amount (personal or corporate) please let me know, I'll add it here.

Kids can participate at the $1 rate of their parents money, or .25 cents of their own hard earned money (parent choice).

All money collected at the event will be directly donated into our Delaney Strong Walk to Defeat ALS page. (see the link below on bottom right of this page)
